Joe DiMeo, 22, underwent the 23-hour surgical treatment, done by a crew of more than 140 healthcare workers final August.
A automobile fracture in 2018 left Mr DiMeo with third-stage burns over 80% of his body. His fingertips were amputated and he misplaced his lips and eyelids.
